Yes, that is the right setting.

Most Bollinger Bands are not set to 18. They are set to 20 (read the book "John Bollinger, on Bollinger Bands), This is just the simple MA that they are based off of. I use 18, because 18 and 20 are so close that they just mess up the screen if I use both the 20BB AND have an 18 day MA on at the same time. Although it has been suggested to me that my use of the 18,instead of the 20 is part of why my system functions like it does. I never tested it out though.

I figured this all out through my own market studies. I am reading Mr. Bollinger's book now. It seems he uses his indicator differently than I do at this point.

I am only on page 164 though, so maybe my stuff is in there and I just did not get to it yet.
