I guess I'd have to disagree about the constitution not being of the people as it seeks to limit the power of a strong centralized federal government and with the amendments designed to protect our liberties. That DC has become infested with scum of the lowest order has nothing to do with the constitutions precepts of a self governing people.

If the constitution were to, all of a sudden, start to be followed again DC would shrink to 1/10th its current size and power would revert back to the states and the people living therein.
