My old man grew up in the wilds of West TN...back when peeps were rough cut and the peeps out there lead the parade of rough cut.

He used to tell me peeps would take litters of dogs or cats...throw em in a seed sack with a rock and toss em in whatever body of water was handy.

Nowadays they'd put you in the poke for that but if you take them to the shelter its OK for them to gas em. Go figure.
