Sir Wayne, you're the best.
The print on paper with a 168gr BT at SR (Short range or "closet range" ... because anywhere between 0 - 350yds is considered very close range, like shooting fish in a barrel, we say like in a closet. OK, whatever.
The 168gr BT will print unevenly, like a crooked un-tight circle, but when YDR (yonder down range the group tightens. Shorter distance, a quality cartridge SP or FMJ are pretty darn good. You know a typical rifle that shoots a 7.62x54 has a a barrel length of 25in., anyway ... the barrel ID (inside diameter) is one turn in twelve inches. Normally, the said rifle is designed for a particular cartridge.
About 35 years ago I bought a rifle from a guy who just didn't know what he had, a Styer Mannlicher chambered in .308 (7.62x54) at the range in Miami-Dade County, Tamiami trail and Krome Ave.The county shooting range. Said it was a piece of $hit, can't shoot accurately at all. Firstly his stance was incorrect, Secondly he was jerking the trigger. Thirdly, junkyard ammo. Yep classic machismo mistake, they buy a world class firearm and complain about the high cost of quality ammo, then buy junkyard ammo.
Ok ...
Again, I always enjoy reading your input, you always posses that word Judo, lol
