I tell you something that's fun and if your not into killing stuff just peppering them to frighten...air-soft guns. They shoot little plastic balls about twice the size of a BB.

My nephews are into them so I've had the opportunity to play with them. They're good for about 100 feet accuracy wise. They come in all kinds of configurations...pistols, sniper rifles, and AR types. I shot one of the AR types that fired fully automatic. It was a blast. Shot the chit out of one of my nephews before I realized how much power they had at 30-40 feet. Put whelps all over him. Most are battery operated and the ammo is cheap.

A critter getting peppered with one of those would think twice about coming back...after you scare all the critters off you can set the wife to running across the yard. :-))
